Huon Hooke has named the Domaine Marcel Deiss 2011 Berckem his Best Import this week.
A blend of 13 Alsace varieties. Yellow colour and full-blown buttered toast bouquet reveal some development. There are background floral and spicy gewurz-like notes. Powerful in the mouth, with a little sweetness balancing a bitter-orange peel taste. Emphatic finish with a slight grip. Now to 2018. 14 per cent alcohol. 93/100
